This is an urgent appeal. Sarah Moore needs your help!
A racing driver’s helmet. It keeps them safe from bangs on the head. Tinted visors keep the sun out of their eyes. They also mean we don’t see exhaust blackened, fly splatted faces at race end like those images of old! The helmet is also a lot more than though. With the drivers hidden away inside the survival cell, more than ever their helmet is how they can express themselves and their personality. Manufacturer, paint scheme and sponsor decals. They all come together to ensure that your favourite driver is recognisable and you can cheer them on.
Can You Help?
With all that being said, we’d like to draw your attention to a very special cause. Please help if you can. W Series driver, Sarah Moore, needs your help to get a new helmet. Her current one is several years old now and probably not up to the rigours of what could be a pivotal season in her career. The global pandemic affected Moore’s income leaving her unable to pay for a new helmet as she previously had planned to do.
People would think being at the level we are we should have no problem afford a new helmet etc… Our helmets are the one thing that is our own responsibility in the W Series as each driver has a personal preference on manufacturer etc…
As we have discussed before on this site, not all of the drivers in W Series are afforded the luxury of being professional drivers. Many of them work full-time jobs such as Tasmin Pepper’s role at her parent’s bottle manufacturing plant, or Alice Powell’s work with her father on house renovations and driver coaching.
Here at Grand Prix Grandstand, we are passionate about supporting drivers whenever we can. If you look on Moore’s GoFundMe, you’ll find my name. We would love it if you could donate too. Any little help you can give would be amazing. Let’s get Moore in a shiny new helmet for W Series Round 1 at Paul Ricard. The link is here.
