HWA Racelab have announced that 2020 F3 runner-up, Theo Pourchaire will make his F2 debut with the team in Bahrain. It has long been a tradition that teams will hand promising talents a seat in the next rung of the ladder for the final rounds of a championship. It gives the driver a low-pressure environment to begin adapting to the car.
17-year-old Pourchaire had a phenomenal 2020 F3 season, winning two races among his eight podiums. Theo is highly rated by teams and fans alike. He is already a member of the Sauber Driver Academy and could be on course to be the next French F1 driver.
Guiliano Alesi started the season in the HWA seat but moved to MP Motorsport for the Russian round. The seat was then filled by HWA Racelab’s Jake Hughes who finished the F3 season in 7th. Now Pourchaire will have his chance in the car for the final four races.
